The University of Battambang conducted a Consultative Workshop on Drafting the UBB’s Students Grievance Procedure which took place from April 23 to 24, 2020. This workshop was presided over by H.E. Sieng Emtotim, Rector of the University of Battambang. In this workshop Dr. Nou Fata, an Education Specialist from World Bank presenting and sharing his experience through video conferencing. This workshop is also attended by staff members of the faculties, institutes, Graduate School, department of the foundation year, offices, and centers of UBB. This workshop is supported by Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP), funded by the World Bank. The Consultative Workshop has three main objectives:
– First: Presentation of procedures, mechanisms, and experiences related to student’s grievance at the University of Battambang
– Second, consult and gather input regarding the draft law, procedures, and mechanism of student protest at the University of Battambang
– Third: Draft the procedure and mechanism of student’s grievance at the University of Battambang in accordance No 2289 អយក.ប្រក, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on Procedures for Proposing or Complaints, and Solutions for Academics, Parents or Guardians and Education Staff, 06 June 2013 Education Strategic Plan 2019-2023 and Policy on Vision Higher Education by 2030.
Please note that student’s grievance procedures will play a vital role in empowering students, parents, guardians, and education staff to express and complaint all educational services to their higher education institutions for the purpose of promoting the quality and effectiveness of educational services to be responsible for training highly skilled and ethically trained human resources in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia policy.
